ROCHESTER — The Mankato West boys hockey team fell to New Prague 3-2 in the finals of the Section 1A tournament on Thursday at the Rochester Recreation Center.

New Prague had a 3-0 lead after two periods, as goaltender Connor Wagner stopped all 27 shots he faced over that time.

The Scarlets made a push in the third period, getting goals from Cole Filler and Max Mettler, but they couldn't get the equalizer.

New Prague advances to next week's state tournament. It was the second time this season the Trojans defeated the Scarlets.
