Thielen signed to Vikings' practice squad

EDEN PRAIRIE — One day after being waived, former Minnesota State receiver Adam Thielen has been signed to the Minnesota Vikings' eight-man practice squad.

Other players added to the practice squad were running back Joe Banyard, guard Travis Bond, defensive tackle Everett Dawkins, tight end Chase Ford, tackle Kevin Murphy and receiver Rodney Smith.

A player on the practice squad works out with the team all week but is inactive on game day. A practice squad player is paid $6,000 per week, and if that player is called up, he will be paid a prorated share of the NFL minimum salary, which is $405,000.
