SIOUX FALLS, S.D. — Three Mavericks finished atop the leaderboard as the Minnesota State women’s golf team opened with a season-opening win at the Augustana Fall Invitational on Sunday.
Juniors Tabitha Kunst (77-72) and Dani Selberg (75-74), along with sophomore Kanya Sethasompobe (74-75) all finished with 36-hole totals of 149 in tying for first place at the tournament held at Bakker Crossing.
Senior Alyssa Kalthoff shot rounds of 75 and 80 and her 155 total placed her in a tie for 10th. Rounding out the top five was senior Rebekah Schieck (169, t-45th).
Minnesota State combined to shoot 602 as a team in finishing 12 strokes ahead of host Augustana (614). Concordia-St. Paul was third at 617, Upper Iowa was fourth at 632 and Gustavus finished fifth (641) in the 11-team field.
Next action for the Mavericks is the Concordia-St. Paul Invitational Sept. 15-16.
