ST. PETER — St. Peter won six of seven matches in straight sets Tuesday, earning a 6-1 victory over Fairmont in South Central Conference boys tennis.
Class A’s 10th-ranked Nathan Huber had the most decisive win for the Saints, downing Sterlin Johnson 6-0, 6-0 at the No. 1 singles position. St. Peter’s No. 3 doubles team of Noah Adamson and Drew Elofson defeated jake Kallenbach and Mitch Anderton 6-2, 6-0.
Fairmont’s only win came at second doubles where J.T. Viesselman and Andrew Johnson downed Nels Kallaus and Avery Bachman 6-3, 7-5.
The win gives St. Peter (12-6, 5-0 in SCC) its sixth straight regular season conference championship.
Lourdes 5, Waseca 2: No. 3-ranked Rochester Lourdes won the nonconference dual in Waseca Tuesday.
The Bluejays’ John Lewer won 6-3, 3-6, 6-4 against David Turlington at first singles. Waseca’s No. 1 doubles team of Josh Metzdorff and Ryan Von Ende won 6-2, 2-6, 6-1.
