Holicky reaches 1,000 in loss to Loyola

MANKATO — Taylor Holicky went over 1,000 points for her career on Tuesday but it wasn’t enough as Mankato Loyola defeated Cleveland 60-43 in a Valley Conference girls basketball game.

Holicky led all scorers with 22 points for the Clippers.

Aunikah Bastian had a solid all-around game for Loyola, netting 13 points with six rebounds and six assists. Teammate Jordyn Strachan scored 13 points and Jordyn Theuninck added nine.

Loyola (21-2, 13-1 in Valley) plays again Friday at Martin Luther.
