Friday's postponements

All Mankato basketball called off

MANKATO — Friday’s heavy snowfall took its toll on area high school athletic events, forcing a number of games to be postponed or canceled.

In Mankato, none of the high school teams played their games. The West boys game with Owatonna has been rescheduled for 3:30 p.m. Saturday at the West gym.

The East boys game with Faribault will be played at 7:30 p.m. Saturday in Faribault. Friday’s East and West girls basketball games were canceled outright.

Other basketball games that have been moved to Sturday include Blue Earth Area girls at St. Peter (4 p.m.); Blue Earth Area boys at Lake Crystal Wellcome Memorial (1:30 p.m.); Waseca boys at Kasson-Mantorville (2 p.m.); Faribault Bethlehem Academy boys at Janesville-Waldorf-Pemberton (7:15 p.m.); and Waterville-Elysian-Morristown boys at Medford (7:15 p.m.).

The Belle Plaine boys at Tri-City United game has been pushed back to 7:30 p.m. on Feb. 28. Friday’s New Ulm Cathedral at Nicollet boys game was canceled outright.

Friday’s Section 2A individual wrestling meet was converted into one all-day meet Saturday beginning at 10 a.m. in Blue Earth.
