Snow, rain force postponement of athletic events

The weather continues to disrupt the spring sports season as Wednesday's Mankato East vs. Mankato West baseball game has been postponed. The game will now be played as part of a 4 p.m. doubleheader on May 16, at Wolverton Field.

Wednesday's Bethany Lutheran vs. Martin Luther doubleheader has also been postponed. The games have been rescheduled for 2 p.m. on Thursday (May 2) at the Bethany field.

The Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference softball tournament, which was slated to begin Thursday, has been moved indoors to the Rochester Community and Technical College Dome. Minnesota State will take on the winner of the U-Mary vs. St. Cloud State game at 1:30 p.m.

If the Mavericks win they'll play again at 1:30 p.m. Friday. If they lose they'll go at 11 a.m. Friday. The tournament is scheduled to move back outside Saturday if the fields are deemed playable.
