UMAC basketball roundup

MORRIS — Bethany Lutheran had three players reach double figures in a 76-65 Upper Midwest Athletic Conference men’s basketball loss to Minnesota-Morris on Friday.

The Vikings’ Gavin Kroehler led all scorers with 19 points. Garett Benson scored 14 points, and Garet Tucker had 12 points.

Brendon Foss led Minnesota Morris with 11 points, 10 rebounds and four assists.

Bethany was down 45-39 at halftime. The Vikings made 24 of 54 shots from the floor and were 13 of 21 from the free-throw line.

Crown 86, Martin Luther men 76: Kaleb Buch led Martin Luther with 18 points, four rebounds and four assists in a UMAC loss at St. Bonifacius.

Galen Holzhueter scored 17 points for the Knights, Josh Danell scored 10 with nine rebounds, and Luke Rothe scored 11.

Martin Luther (4-20, 3-10) travels to Minnesota Morris today.

Minnesota Morris 104, Bethany Lutheran women 42: Kendra Wycoff scored 33 points for league-champion Minnesota Morris en route to an UMAC win over visiting Bethany.

Rudy Ruffin scored six points and dished out four assists for the Vikings (8-16, 6-7 in UMAC), Shelby Wiederhoeft scored six with nine rebounds and Kasslin Swenson scored seven with four rebounds.
