GAC tennis duo falls in quarterfinals

KALAMAZOO, Mich. — The Gustavus Adolphus men’s doubles team of Amrik Donkena and Mya Smith-Dennis lost in the quarterfinals of the NCAA Division III tennis tournament on Friday.

The duo, who took second place in last year’s championships, fell 6-2, 7-5 to Nicholas Ballou and Raymond Worley of Cal Lutheran.

On Thursday, Donkena and Smith-Dennis advanced with a 6-2, 6-3 win over Tanner Brown and Erik Lim of Johns Hopkins. Donkena also competed in singles play, falling to Ballou 6-1, 6-0.
