Gusties sweep Martin Luther

NEW ULM — Brittany Chase and Maddison Ackiss scored two goals apiece on Wednesday, leading the Gustavus Adolphus women’s soccer team to a 6-2 victory over Martin Luther in a nonconference match.

Valerie Belanger and Coursey Edwards had the other two goals for the Gusties. Amanda Cartony dished out three assists.

Jenna Maurer scored twice for Martin Luther. The Knights had four shots on goal compared to 17 for Gustavus.

Caroline Olson and Roisen Granlund shared net duties for the Gusties (3-1). Keely Keese and Julia Barthels did the same for Martin Luther (2-3).

GAC men 7, MLC 0: Seven different players scored goals for Gustavus in the nonconference shutout over Martin Luther College at New Ulm.

Eric Schneider and Konnor Tranoris each had a goal and an assist to lead the Gusties. Brett Ylonen and Alvaro Pinto combined on the shutout but neither had to make a save as the Knights had no shots on goal.

Gustavus improves to 3-1-1 and MLC drops to 2-2-0.
