U-12 Girls Soccer

Earlier this week the Mankato United U-12, Classic 3 girls soccer won the state championship with a victory over CC United from Chaska/Chanhassen.

With seconds remaining in regulation, CC United scored to tie the game at 2. After playing two five-minute overtime periods the game went to a shoot out. Mankato goalie Haley Hughes stopped 3 of the 5 CC United shots.

Mankato players Briget Brown, Taylor Kuechle put their shots in net and the winning goal was scored by Maddie Kleschult on the final shot attempt. This is believed to be the first state championship for a girls team in Mankato United club history.
