ST PETER — Five members in three generations of a family suffered non-life threatening injuries when a van and an SUV collided Friday morning on the south end of St. Peter.
Kimberly A. Roberts, 41, of Mankato was driving a 2003 Dodge Caravan north on Highway 169 about 6:40 a.m. Friday and was near the intersection with Highway 22 when the van and a southbound 1997 Chevrolet Blazer, driven by Michael D. Hornaman, 27, of Le Sueur, collided.
The State Patrol said Hornaman was making a left turn to go south on Highway 22 when the SUV struck the van, which spun into a ditch then rolled in the northbound lanes of Highway 169.
Roberts was taken to Rivers Edge Hospital in St. Peter. Her mother, Jeanie M. Rehnelt, 63, of Lakefield, a passenger in the van, also was taken to at the St. Peter hospital. Other passengers — Roberts’ father, Dale Rehnelt, 67, of Lakefield, and her children, Nathen, 8, and Natalie, 5, were treated at Mayo Clinic Health Systems in Mankato.
Hornaman had no apparent injuries.
