The annual Dakota 38 + 2 Memorial Ride and Run concluded on Thursday at Reconciliation Park in Mankato. The ceremony at the park marked the 157th anniversary of the hanging of 38 Dakota men in 1862. A moment of silence was observed as the names of those who were hung were read over a public address speaker. Speeches were given, including one by Lieutenant Governor of Minnesota, and prayers and songs were offered to the memory of those who died.
