A felony-level charge of possessing a dangerous weapon on school property has been filed against 17-year-old Mankato West student in juvenile court.

Stephen Don Folkerts is accused of brandishing a pocket knife on school grounds after other students threw snowballs at him. A police officer found a knife in Folkerts’ pocket after two students reported seeing him with it.

The incident allegedly took place around 4 p.m. March 5. He’s also charged with disorderly conduct, which is a misdemeanor.
