A 20-year-old Mankato man who was released from jail last week after appearing in court for drug charges was the victim of an alleged assault Tuesday.

Jarrel Berry was allegedly attacked by a woman with a knife at a residence in the 100 block of South Fifth Street. The assault was reported by a third person who called 911 at 12:05 a.m.

Sharee Tasha Nolan, 23, appeared in court Thursday for felony charges of second-degree assault and making terroristic threats. She allegedly chased Berry with a knife before slashing his $1,250 leather jacket and $100 shoes.

Berry allegedly had cocaine and a large amount of cash in his possession when he was arrested Jan. 18.

Police were already looking for him at the time because he was wanted for questioning in a Chicago shooting.
