LE SUEUR — Recent rainfall and thunderstorms prompted Le Sueur County officials to call for no-wake restrictions on several area lakes Saturday.

The Le Sueur County Sheriff’s Office said water levels at 10 lakes had risen to no-wake levels, meaning boats and other watercraft must operate at the slowest speed possible to maintain steerage but cannot exceed 5 mph.

Lake Washington, Lake Emily, West Jefferson Lake, Middle Jefferson Lake, East Jefferson Lake, German Lake, Lake Francis, Rays Lake, Lake Tetonka, and Lake Sakatah are all under restrictions.

Deputies will monitor water levels throughout the weekend and into next week.
