Marie Cini, a national leader in online and adult education, is scheduled to be the keynote speaker at South Central College's 2019 commencement ceremonies.

NORTH MANKATO — South Central College will hold its annual commencement ceremonies at 4 p.m. Thursday at Bresnan Arena on the Minnesota State University campus. A total of 613 students from SCC's North Mankato and Faribault campuses will be honored.

The keynote speaker is Marie Cini of the Council for Adult and Experiential Learning. Formerly the provost at the University of Maryland, Cini is a national leader in online and adult learning.

Receiving an Outstanding Alumnus Award is Marvin Bartlett, a 1980 graduate of St. Peter High School who enrolled in SCC's welding program and later studied everything from air conditioning to electronics. Hired by Davis Family Holdings in 1983, Bartlett rose to executive vice president of engineering at Cambria, where he has overseen construction of 4.5 million square feet of production facilities valued at $861 million.

Bartlett and his wife Shelly also owns IndiGO Organic and Burrito Wings in Mankato.
