NEW ULM — A bookkeeper who embezzled from a New Ulm restaurant will spend at least 45 days in jail and must pay restitution.
Angela Marie Otto, 44, of New Ulm, was convicted of two counts of felony theft and sentenced Monday in Brown County District Court.
Otto forged checks to herself and a family member while she worked at Veigel's Kaiserhoff, the charges said.
Otto received a series of stayed and staggered sentences. She'll spend a minimum of 45 days in jail and 10 years on probation if she pays over $38,000 in restitution. She will face additional jail time if she doesn't make restitution payments on time.
