A Vernon Center woman told a judge Tuesday only she and her three children were living at her house when nearly an ounce of methamphetamine was found.
That’s significant because a man with a long criminal history is scheduled to go to trial later this month for allegedly possessing the same drugs. Prosecutors are accusing Timothy Garth Hansen Sr., 48, of living at 29-year-old Tera Marie Volk’s house when it was searched on March 27, 2010.
Volk and Hansen were each charged with three counts of first-degree drug possession and four additional felony charges related to storing drugs in the presence of a child after the search. After reaching a plea agreement with prosecutors, Volk pleaded guilty to a reduced charge of third-degree drug possession. Sentencing guidelines call for a stayed sentence.
