Whatever happened to Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness? No longer granted to women in Alabama, Ohio, Georgia and Missouri, I guess.

If avoiding abortion were really the goal, wouldn’t we be aggressively educating teenagers on sex? And making access to birth control easy and free? But this isn’t about abortion. It’s about controlling women and punishing them for their sexuality. Where is the punishment for the men who are impregnating the women?

And how is it that a rapist, if they even go to prison ( less than 5% ever do) — will serve an average of 5 years; but a woman who aborts that rapist’s baby would get 10 years in prison?

These new abortion laws only increase the pain and suffering of lower income women and girls. Women will still need and get abortions, but now many of them will die. Except the rich women, who always have, and always will, be able to get safe abortions.

And why am I not surprised that the 25 white men in Alabama who voted this in are all gun-rights advocates? Why does a fetus have more rights than schoolchildren, who are getting shot in frightening numbers?

Please, everyone, wake up and vote like your life depends on it!
